I was a bit confused if I was suppose to do a sketch first or not. Regardless, I did my first take on the project and will implement some changes based on feedback.
This is a one page website, which is a lot more common now when it comes to web development. What this means is that if you click on a link in the navigation, it scrolls down to that portion of the website. This makes life easier for people since all the content is on one page and it's just a lot cleaner without needing several pages.
Let me know your thoughts as this was cooked up in about 20-30 minutes.

Fantasy Avatar (Part 1)
I'm basing my project off of this image of a male...
My background will consist of a galaxy feel, next generation forest, Avatar feel.

I did a quick sketch of the male and then added some facial features like extended ears and such to give him the feel that I think would look best. (I can't draw, by the way)

Book Cover Design (Part 2)
This took me about 15-20 minutes to make. I really just did a lot of experimenting with overlays and such. I like the result!
I will be attempting to image trace this: http://blog.nuraypictures.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Louis-Armstrong-Trumpet.jpg

Book Cover Design (Part 1)
I chose Louis Armstrong as the musician I would create a book for.
I really had no idea how to start this so I actually did everything in reverse. I started in Photoshop because I could throw different ideas around really fast. I quickly realized I knew what I wanted and it would just be easier for me to continue in Photoshop and sketch it out later on.
After about 15-20 minutes of messing around, I completed my project!
So below are sketches of my already completed project, it kind of defeats the purpose but here it is!

Awareness Poster (Part 2)
I decided to go with a bomb since someone left a comment saying the gun made it seem like it was about suicide. The bomb worked out because it is actually coming off of the cigarette which I think looked good. Therefore, I have a person smoking a bomb and once they finish... boom. I went with a silhouette because I believe it is the most effective. There is no reason to have detail because it lessens the impact of the message. I only made the word "kills" red to really emphasize the effect.

Awareness Poster (Part 1)
My poster is all about creating awareness of smokers. Smoking will kill you. The best way to make this evident is by showing just that. I decided to replace a cigarette with various lethal weapons to illustrate that you are basically killing yourself. I have yet to decide if I am going to stick with the gun or the bomb, I think both work well but I don't know which one would have more of an impact.
