Fantasy Avatar (Part 1)

I'm basing my project off of this image of a male...

My background will consist of a galaxy feel, next generation forest, Avatar feel.

I did a quick sketch of the male and then added some facial features like extended ears and such to give him the feel that I think would look best. (I can't draw, by the way)

Book Cover Design (Part 2)

This took me about 15-20 minutes to make. I really just did a lot of experimenting with overlays and such. I like the result!

I will be attempting to image trace this: http://blog.nuraypictures.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Louis-Armstrong-Trumpet.jpg

Overlaying this denim texture to the text and applying the color burn effect: http://www.desktopwallpapers4.me/abstract/denim-texture-21383/

Overlaying this texture over the background: http://cmapspublic2.ihmc.us/rid=1KK5D28VD-1VNYLP4-1F7S/stockvault-old-grunge-vintage-texture113522.jpg

The symbols I will use: http://cf067b.medialib.glogster.com/media/3a/3ab91450073babf61cd937bb5113c4089dfd882c99cdb776966e2e3d0644cde4/music-symbols-png.png

I will overlay this on the background: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/pgVZVhZqIfE/maxresdefault.jpg

I will also overlay this on the background: http://www.bestcoloringpagesforkids.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Music-Note-Coloring-Pages-For-Kids.jpg

This will go on the spine: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/clubpenguin/images/6/62/Trumpet.png/revision/latest?cb=20130917091146

Book Cover Design (Part 1)

I chose Louis Armstrong as the musician I would create a book for.

I really had no idea how to start this so I actually did everything in reverse. I started in Photoshop because I could throw different ideas around really fast. I quickly realized I knew what I wanted and it would just be easier for me to continue in Photoshop and sketch it out later on.

After about 15-20 minutes of messing around, I completed my project!

So below are sketches of my already completed project, it kind of defeats the purpose but here it is!
